This is a great walking area with many walks that can start straight from your doorstep. Only a few minutes away from the cottages there is a play park for the children with a tennis court. There are 2 pubs within 1-mile of the village the Fox and Rabbit Inn and the Horseshoe Inn that serve good food and drink.

Dalby Forest is near to the cottages and can offer a challenge for the more adventurous, from Mountain Biking to swinging through the trees on Go-Ape or test your balancing skills on the Segway bikes. For a more relaxing day there is a 9-mile drive through the Forest with picnic areas to enjoy lunch and the scenery.

Only 5 miles away in the Market Town of Pickering is the North York Moors Steam Railway, this runs from Pickering to Whitby and can take you back in time for a nostalgic day out, stopping off at Goathland, the village used in the filming of the Heartbeat T.V series and one of the Harry Potter movies.  Pickering also offers a selection of traditional shops, café’s and restaurants.
